The working principle of lock nut is self -locking with friction between nuts and bolts. The anti -loose effect of the locking nut mainly depends on the interaction between the nut and the bolt thread. There are many ways to improve the interaction between threads, such as the improvement of the thread of nuts, increasing roughness of nylon for nylon nuts, and the surface treatment of the thread.

There are several categories of commonly used lock nuts.

1. All-Metal Prevailing Torque Lock nut,such as DIN985. Through two metal pieces of the threaded bottom hole, when fasten with the bolt, the friction between the thread is increased to achieve the purpose of anti -loosening. When the all metal locking nut is fastened, the speed of assembly should not be too high. The all -metal lock nut can be reused, but it should not be installed more than 5 times.

2. Nylon lock nut, such as DIN985 Prevailing Torque Type Hexagon Thin Nuts With nylon Insert, DIN982 Prevailing Torque Type Hexagon Thick Nuts with nylon Insert. When the nylon lock nuts are tightened, the nylon part and the bolt thread form a close cooperation, and the friction resistance is generated under the effect of the elastic force of the nylon to achieve the purpose of preventing looseness.

3. Slotted loucking nuts, such as Hexagon Slotted Castle Lock Nuts. In the process of use, when the bolt into the hex slotted castle nut, it will automatically open the end of the nut, under the action of the nut deformation force, so that the thread is closely matched and friction resistance, in order to achieve the purpose of anti-loosening.

The slotted lock nut has stable torque, good anti-loosening effect and can be reused.

DIN985非金属嵌件锁紧螺母,也常被称为尼龙锁紧螺母、止动螺母或自锁螺母,是一种用于防止螺纹连接自行松动的螺母。

DIN985 尼龙锁紧螺母的主要特点是在螺母的一端内嵌有一圈尼龙插件。这圈尼龙插件在螺纹通过时会与螺纹紧密配合,从而产生一定的摩擦力,以达到锁紧的效果。这种设计既可以有效防止螺母因震动等原因自行松动,又不会对螺栓造成损伤,因此被广泛应用。

DIN 6926非金属嵌件锁紧螺母也称尼龙法兰螺母,结合了DIN985尼龙锁紧螺母DIN6923法兰螺母的特点,同时具有尼龙锁紧与法兰面的优点。

DIN6926螺母具体六角形状:这使得螺母可以使用标准工具进行安装和拆卸,方便快捷。螺母的底部有一个扩展的圆形法兰,这有助于分散压力,减少对安装表面的损伤,并提供更大的扭矩支持。螺母内部有一个尼龙环,当螺栓被拧入时,尼龙环会与螺纹紧密配合,产生摩擦力,从而防止螺母因振动或其他外力作用而自行松动。常用的DIN6926螺母的法兰面不带防滑齿。

DIN980全金属锁紧螺母也叫有效力矩型锁紧螺母或插片式锁紧螺母、金属嵌件锁紧螺母等,有效力矩是指在不受轴向载荷条件下,旋入螺母产生的扭矩,由于螺母的锁紧功能,也叫锁紧力矩。 当旋入螺母时,螺母自身变形的螺纹或内置金属锁紧环直径略小于螺栓外螺纹,螺母需要克服摩擦阻力,该摩擦阻力也成功的阻止螺母在不受外力的情况下产生松动。

DIN980根据其锁紧形式主要有DIN980V型DIN980M型。V型与M型的区别:980 V型靠螺母自身的螺纹变形位置起到锁紧防松功能,常见的形式有:端面三点式、椭圆式、侧面挤压式。 M型螺母的锁紧原理为:螺母内嵌经过热处理的金属片,该金属片内径略小于螺栓螺纹外径,螺母拧紧后,金属片卡住螺栓螺纹,可以有效的起到防松、抗震的作用。

锁紧螺母安装时必须借助工具拧紧(如棘轮扳手),不锈钢类螺母安装时建议预涂润滑脂防止在快速安装时出现螺母锁死问题。锁紧螺母性能验证包括五次拧入拧出力矩要求可参照ISO 2320执行,以确保其锁紧性能。

DIN 6927 Flanged Stover Nuts are hex all-metal prevailing torque self-locking nut with an integrated washer. It is sometimes referred to as being ‘washer faced’.

In brief, this locknut is:

  • An all-metal prevailing torque self-locking nut, with an incorporated non-spinning washer.
  • A flange nut version of the DIN 980V Stover Nut.
  • Reusable.

The flange further reduces the risk of this nut loosening – and the nut is considered vibration resistant.

The self-locking function of this Flanged Stover Nut is still effective after a number of applications, meaning that it can be reused many times and remains resistant to shocks, vibration and dynamic loads. The integrated washer distributes the load over the covering area of the application, further reducing the risk of loosening over uneven surfaces.

The locking function is achieved by the deformation of part of the nut, and the nut will run smoothly until it reaches the deformed part, when the clamping force subsequently increases.
